20th Century Tehran Free Walking Tour

Sat & Sun at 1:00 PM, (RESERVATION REQUIRED)

Tour Overview

In the 20th Century Tehran Free Walking Tour, we briefly speak about the history of Iran (Persia) from 3000 BC to the present. Then we’ll discover some spectacular attractions of Tehran from a new point of view. On our way, we continue the tour of the modernization of Tehran. We’ll walk on streets built in the 19th century and the first of the 20th. Setting out to some unique places of Tehran and becoming familiar with the process of modernization of Tehran, the conversation about the latest kingdoms of Iran, and the 1921 coup in Tehran.

We walk across the street called 30 Tir Street, which is the crossroad of religions, food, and culture. This street is well known as a religious tolerance street. You will be surprised by the trace of various religions in one street, which reflects the spirit of a peacekeeper of the Iranian people.

Moreover, different museums are located on this street, where each building has its unique story. The smell of food arising from street food booths could make your mouth watery while we are in the middle of the tour.

Let's quickly answer to important questions (Click to expand)

How much should I pay?

First, I would like to draw your attention to some points:

Before the collapse of the tourism industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic & recent unrest *and protests* in Iran, our morning walking tours used to be tip-based*, and our local guides performed tours for a group of people every day.

But at the moment, due to the imposed situations, we changed the policy of our tours so that the travelers and guides would be in a win-win situation. In this regard, tours are performed only by reservation, even with one or two persons, and the minimum payment (tip) is 10 euros per person since performing tours is how our local guides earn money.

Thank you for understanding the situation in Iran, and I am sure you enjoy the priceless information you get from our storytellers.
